A Series of 11 Lectures Conducted by Rabbi Alan Iser

During lectures and discussions, topics related to the attitude of Jewish law to contemporary medical procedures and attitudes of medical staff will be raised. We'll start by considering how much man has property and autonomy in relation to his own body? Later, we will discuss topics related to undergoing medical procedures, hospitalization and end of life, such as euthanasia, segregation in health care associated with organ transplants and the distribution of limited medical resources in crisis situations. We will also consider when, according to Jewish law, medical personnel are obliged to put themselves in danger to save patients' lives, and to what extent they should take care of their own lives and health. We will not miss difficult topics related to procreation, infertility and loss of a child. Rabbi Alan Iser is a lecturer in religious studies and theology at St. St. Joseph's University and St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Seminary in Philadelphia. He is a former congregational rabbi and has visited Poland several times as a visiting rabbi.
